Poppies and Sunset at Siena on the Road to San Gimignano © Leslie Ehrin 2005 The poppies were glowing cadmium red orange against a lavender and peach toned sky which looked like an over idealized landscape in a set design as the sun was starting to set across the meadows surrounding Siena. The entire landscape was bathed in a peach cast coloration which contrasted sharply with the dark chocolate soil in tapestry patterns that interlocked like puzzle pieces. I knew it was time to leave the pageantry of young men practicing their craft for competitions to accompany the upcoming Palio event or I would not get back to the Convent before dark on the Vespa. My cameras and clothes were there along with my pictures, so off I went, heading toward the vineyards of Chianti and the Hilltown glowing in the evening moonlight. Original Sold - Prints Available
