ABOUT THE ARTIST
Leslie Ehrin has been painting since she was sixteen months old, when her Artist Mother put her in the bathtub with jars of tempra paint, brushes and newsprint taped to the walls. She started telling stories about her paintings as soon as she could talk in sentences. With that background, it is not surprising that Leslie later graduated from The University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in the History of Art and a Minor in English Literature in December, 1979. From Penn, she was recruited to work for Prentice-Hall Publishers Inc., and after three years of climbing the corporate ladder and becoming an Acquisitions Editor, she resigned to enroll at Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts Certificate Program, prior to their MFA Accreditation. Leslie studied painting, drawing and printmaking full time at PAFA for four years, while also working part time as a corporate Art Advisor with Barbara Wallace & Associates and later as Gallery Manager of Feathers Gallery in Chestnut Hill. In 1991, she went to work for nine years with The Women’s Committee of The Philadelphia Museum of Art, managing corporate art sales through what was then called The Art Sales & Rental Gallery and later named ArtWorks Gallery .
